Mrs. Cynthia Brust

Director of Communications, American Anglican Council

Cynthia Patrick Brust is Director of Communications for the American Anglican Council (AAC) in Washington, DC, having previously worked as Media Consultant and Assistant Director of Communications for the AAC. Her experience encompasses a broad range of public relations and communications positions in governmental, corporate, political, and church-related arenas. She has managed various political campaigns, served as communications consultant for a number of organizations, as well as planned and implemented numerous public-relations campaigns over the last 20 years. Before undertaking private consulting, she served as Press Secretary for U.S. Congressman Carroll A. Campbell, Jr., Washington, DC, and as Director of Public Relations for Midland Memorial Hospital, Midland, TX.

Mrs. Brust has studied, written, and taught extensively on numerous aspects of Christian discipleship over the last fifteen years, has a strong dedication to Biblical authority, and adheres to orthodox Christianity. In 1991, she developed Be My Witnesses, a curriculum addressing practical applications of the Great Commission. She is a frequent keynote and workshop speaker for parish, diocesan, and national conferences. Mrs. Brust has also been active in both parish and diocesan activities, including serving as Coordinator for Adult Discipleship & Education at St. Michael & All Angels, Longview, TX, and as a delegate to diocesan councils in addition to coordinating public relations campaigns for two major church conferences. She has also served on various community boards and task forces.

Mrs. Brust holds a B.A. degree in Religion and Political Science from Converse College, Spartanburg, SC, and did graduate studies at the University of South Carolina College of Journalism in Mass Communications. Mrs. Brust and her husband Ellis, Chief Operating Officer and Chaplain to the President for the American Anglican Council, have two children, Rebecca and William.
