The Rev. James K. McCaslin, Jr. Dean, Southeastern Convocation, Anglican Communion Network |
|
|
The Rev. Jim McCaslin has served as Rector of All Souls Church in Jacksonville, Florida since May, 1999. Jim is joyfully married to his wife Ginny, and they are blessed to have six children, and five grandchildren. Jim was graduated from Virginia Theological Seminary in 1994, and then went on staff as an Assistant Rector at Truro Church in Fairfax, Virginia. Jim and Ginny moved to Jacksonville in 1996, where Jim served as Assistant Rector at the Church of the Redeemer until he was called to All Souls. Prior to entering ordained ministry, Jim served as a career Army Officer, specializing in Military Intelligence and Soviet Affairs. A highlight of his military service was his time as a Russian Presidential Translator on the “Hot Line” to Moscow. Jim also served in the Office of Inspector General, a time which proved to be of great value for later ministry. As an IG, he learned how to help agencies run well while simultaneously providing for the needs of their people. As a pastor in Jacksonville, Jim has committed himself to preaching and teaching the unchanging Word of God with his focus on “Knowing Christ and Making Him Known.” Jim sees worship of the Living God in spirit and in truth as the starting point for all ministry and mission. When the Episcopal Church rejected God’s revealed truth by elevating sinful behavior to sacred doctrine, Jim joined others in the Diocese of Florida who saw realignment with faithful Anglicans as the only viable alternative to remaining under the spiritual authority of the heretical ECUSA leadership without abandoning the historic faith and order of the worldwide Anglican Communion. Steve Jecko, Bishop of Florida, asked Jim to represent Florida on the Steering Committee to plan the Organizational Convocation of the Network of Anglican Communion Dioceses and Parishes. Bob Duncan, Bishop of Pittsburgh and Network Moderator then appointed Jim to serve as Dean of the Network’s Southeastern Convocation. Jim emphasizes that the Anglican Communion Network is committed to worshiping Jesus as Lord and Savior and to carrying out the Great Commission as a true and legitimate expression of Anglicanism in this country, together with all of our Anglican Common Cause partners. We’re responding, he concludes, to the godly leadership of the Primates who have offered their support and the full weight of their ministries and offices to those gathering in this Network. |
